Mary Jane Hood, age 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at her residence. She was born March 31, 1937 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Vasil "Charles" and Margaret (née Elozwoei) Kedik. Mary attended Mishawaka High School where she would meet and later marry the love of her life, Robert "Bob" L. Hood, Sr. on July 22, 1954. Mary loved to bake, especially cakes, and whether a birthday, wedding, anniversary or special occasion, you knew the cake would be hers. Through the years, she had many other hobbies including jigsaw puzzles, crocheting baby blankets and tablecloths, teaching Sunday School at North Church of Christ, playing golf and fishing; but, cherished the time spent with friends and family the most . . . a 'Mom' to everyone!
Mary is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bob; children, Linda M. (Michael) Morrow, Robert L. (Monica) Hood Jr., Brenda S. (Paul) Ward; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Peggy Ruch and Sandra (Jim) Burleson; and brothers-in-law, Doyle Hood and Thomas (Joyce) Hood. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Kedik, Mike (Dorothy) Kedik, John (Lily) Kedik, and Jim (Judy) Kedik; sisters, Annie (Gus) Ewald, Margie (Ronald) Armstrong and Alice (Richard) Washburn.
Funeral Service is 11:30 am Monday, October 14, 2024 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
