

Mary Jane Keesler, 83, passed away in her home on Sunday, April 2, 2023. Born in Wells County, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Harry Samuel and Ruth Ester (Reber) Gehrett. Over the years she worked for several different companies such as Elmco Steel and Dana, with her most recent career being with Ryan's Restaurant where she worked in the bakery. Mary Jane loved her plants, enjoyed being outdoors, and her faithful companion, a dog named Maggie. She adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but Danikka and Deanna Marie were the apples of her eye. Mary Jane is survived by her six children; Deborah Kay (Stan) Fuller, Victoria Duke, Lester Warren (Aileen) Brickley, Rebecca Brickley, Ruthy May (Phillip Moreno) Waltz; and Lanta Alice Brickley; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings; Harriet Bennett of Portland, Indiana, George (Penny) Gehrett of Bluffton, Indiana, Richard (Mary Lou) Gehrett of Gladwin, Michigan; Karen (Steve) Hartman of Montpelier, Indiana, and Sharon Uhl of Gladwin, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to both of her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Keesler; sisters, Bernice Bailer, Ethel Medsker, and Lanta Alice Kriag; and a brother-in-law, Bill Uhl. Funeral services for Mary will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a public visitation scheduled from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Transitions Hospice and Palliative Care - Indiana.
