Mary Louease (M.L.) (Wagner) Lehman, 93 of Ft Wayne IN, passed away peacefully Thursday Feb 18, 2021. She was born in Portsmouth, OH on Oct 7, 1927 to Genevieve (Boggs) Wagner and Grey I. Wagner. She graduated from North Side High School in 1945. M.L. was an elementary school teacher in New London, OH when she met her husband Galen. They moved to Ft. Wayne and married in 1948. She obtained her teaching degree from St. Francis College. She taught at Lafayette Center, Huntertown, Churubusco, FWCS, and St. Vincent Elementary Schools while raising 3 children. M.L. retired from teaching in 1969. During their 71 years of marriage, Gay and M.L. sailed over 100,000 miles with family and friends in The Great Lakes, The Bahamas, Intracoastal Waterway, The Adriatic Sea, and the Netherlands. M.L. was a loving and generous soul, an amazing woman who loved to share tales of adventure. She also enjoyed sharing knowledge thru the Fort Wayne Power and Sail Squadron, and fellowship at St Joseph UMC. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Jenny (Scott A.) Criswell; grandsons Jason Levy, Gregory (Emily) I. Waikel, and Scott G. Criswell; and six great-grandchildren. M.L. was preceded in death by her husband, Galen D. Lehman; her son, John Tracy Lehman; and her daughter, Susan E. Lehman.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 22, 2021 with calling two hours prior at Saint Joseph United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial donations may be made to St Joseph UMC, 6004 Reed Rd, Ft Wayne IN.
