Mrs. McClure was my third grade teacher, and the first to ever take me aside to "find out what my problem was."
School was too easy, which made it exceedingly boring. Mrs. McClure gave me extra work that was meant to challenge me. It also helped me to both appreciate my time in school, and to realize I didn't need to be bound by the system.
I never thought I would be a teacher, but when I became one, I thought of her and the time she took to look after a student as an individual. I am also an author and, that too, is in some part thanks to her. 
Don't I wish I could have told her so directly and thanked her for her care...

Mary was a dear, dear friend to my husband and I. We lived across the ally from JT and her from 1975-1980. They adopted us as their own and our son as their grandbaby. We had such fun with both of them. JT took my then young husband under wing and Mary the teacher that she was, would always be ready with the right answer if I had a question. In the past few years Mary, Jim and I became reunited and rekindled our relationship as if time had never passed. She was like that all the time, we just picked right up where we left off. We will miss her dearly. Todays date is 1/7/12 and we just found out about her passing. We are saddened beyond words.

I just recently found out about Mrs. McClure's passing.  Even at 37 years old, I can still remember my 3rd grade class at Price with Mrs. McClure.  I remember crying at the end of the school year because I loved her and didn't want the year to end.  She was an excellent teacher who truly showed love and kindness to each student.  God bless you, Mrs. McClure!

Mrs. McClure-
You never let me say I couldn't or I can't. You never let me give excuses. You held high expectations, were firm, yet gave hugs when it was needed. Due to these fantastic teaching practices by yourself and so many of the Price teachers, I am now on my 14th year of teaching. Thank you Mrs. McClure for instilling in me the "do my best" attitude even when I didn't want to. My thoughts are with your family-

Mrs. McClure taught our sons at Price Elementary.  She will be remembered as one who was a great teacher, had an infectious smile, and one who cared for her students.  She was truly loved by our family.
Memory Eternal, may she rest in peace!

Aunt Mary had an opinion about everything. She was a good ear for my mom, her sister, Nancy. 
She came to Kansas City a couple of Thanksgivings ago and we had a great time together.
Absent from the body is present with the Lord.

The world will be a little less bright without our Mary. Mary and J.T. were my neighbors , our homes backed up to each other in Ft Wayne and we had many conversations in the alley.Even after I moved I went back to the neighborhood just to see "our Mary". Mary was a very spirited gal, who was my neighbor ,and she was such a dear to my daughter. I am  honored to be able to call her my freind. I will forever hold a special place for Aunt Mary. She was full of life and had a an unforgetable voice and laugh that you could hear from across the room. She always had something to say about the shoes I was wearing and she would be probably be disappointed to know that I have since retired the heels for Dr. Scholls and boots. We loved to talk about Jordan's sheep and 4-H projects hence the name she gave me..Eva Gobor from Green Acres quite fitting. May she have eternal peace and after 6 years she is rejoined with the love of her life, Uncle JT. Love you Aunt Mary.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mary. She was our neighbor and a friend. We always enjoyed talking with her. We will miss her.

Mary: Your optimism for life, and for living, was contagious. Your wit, intelligence, and good conversation made short work of our 2 -3 hour lunches! Your love and kindness was known by all who worked with you, and were taught by you. Our mutual love of all things nature brought us close. We took notes, sent emails, then watched, waited and counted the arrival of every Baltimore Oriole and hummingbird each spring. Yes, you won the Oriole count but I upped you in hummers! Mary, I will miss you.
I will treasure those few, short hours we shared sitting at your picnic table on your beach at Crystal Lake this summer. I am thankful for having had you in my life.

Aunt Mary was so full of life and just a joy to be around.  Her and JT always accepted us as members of their family.  I remember a visit to Crystal lake back in the 90's we laughed so hard and if I remember correctly drank some nice wine from the local vintage.   You will be missed over the Holidays.

Mary was a good friend to me and many of us at Trinity.  After she moved to MI,  she and I  continued to be in touch by phone and email.   We seemed  to have a lot of the same views on things.   She had lots of good ideas and followed through with getting them implemented, for example, the mini directory for Trinity.  She will be missed.  Vera Doner (Ft. Wayne, IN)

I have many fond memories of JT and Mary.  They were my favorite aunt and uncle.  I'm glad that she was able to spend time at the lake where she and JT were very happy.  I will miss Mary's wonderful laugh.
