I just discovered Pat's passing and add my sincerest condolences. Pat and I are paternal first cousins. Her father Noel and my father Joesph are brothers. I don't ever remember meeting Pat personally but she had an impact on my life through genealogy. She had contacted me through Ancestry.com and gave me some great information on the Perry family. She had also sent great stuff to our uncle Floyd Perry before he passed. I was very surprised, but fitting, to find a record of her death on Ancestry. My prayers are with you.

Dear Uncle Bob & family.  Me and my family are praying for you during this difficult time.

Aunt Pat inspired me when I was young.  I had gone along with Jeanne to babysit Mark when he was a very new baby.  Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob and another couple were in the kitchen visiting and eating before leaving for the night.  Jeanne and I moved Mark in his baby carrier over close to the stereo to see what albumns we wanted to play and while Jeanne was showing me the songs on the back of an albumn cover, the albumn slipped out and hit Mark on top of his head right on his fontanel.  Of course he let out a deafening scream and Jeanne and I were so scared and weren't sure what to do. When we tried to tell Aunt Pat what happened both Jeanne and I started crying too. We were so upset because we were awared how soft the "soft spot" on a baby's head is and we told her we didn't want to stay and babysit anymore.  We thought she wouldn't want us to stay either.
 
     Aunt Pat was so calming and soothing.  She picked up Mark, calmed him down and reassured us that everything was going to be just fine.  To me, she seemed more concerned with us and how we were reacting.  She just held and rocked him and he was fine after just a little bit.  I told her I didn't want to babysit ever because I was scared of what could happen and then there wouldn't be any adults around to help.  She reassured us and said she thought we would do the right thing.  She also said that this could've easily happened when she was the one watching him and then what would she do, not be his mom anymore?  We started laughing and then Mark started cooing and making happy baby noises.  She said, "See?  He's just fine, you don't have to be upset anymore."  She made such an impact on me that because she trusted us to take care of him after that, I wanted to be the most responsible babysitter ever.
Thank you Aunt Pat . . . until we meet again.

Dear Uncle Bob & family,

My thoughts & prayers are with you all.  I pray that God's Comfort will warmly wrap around you all like a blanket.

As one of the "three girls", I really looked up to all of my "beautiful aunts".  I was in awe of their artistic abilities, their beauty and intelligence.  It was so wonderful to have Aunt Pat even think of me when I shared with her my struggles of transitioning to an empty nester & cooking for just two people.  She sent to me her recipes (on beautiful handmade recipe cards) that I am still using today.

She always was thinking of others.  Even more recently, the kindness & thoughtfulness she showed my after my heart attack.  Even while she was going through her own hospitalization, she had a huge fruit basket sent to me to help aid in my recovery process.

I will miss her quiet humor and wisdom.  Yet, I know she believed in Jesus Christ and when I die I will again see her.  I am so glad to know that she no longer suffers but is in a beautiful place.

Dear Aunt Pat,

 I remember all those times we came over on Sundays after church, went upstairs into your bedroom, pulled all your pretty high heel shoes out from under the bed and tried them on and pranced around the bedroom.  We loved to go through your closet and try on your clothes and jewelry.  With the mess we must have left you with, I'm surprised you ever let us come back into your room again.  You and your sisters probably hated to see us three girls running up to the front porch knowing we were going to ransack your bedroom, but we never knew if that was true.  We looked up to you and your sisters and that has helped to make us who we are today.

To me, you were graceful elegance with a touch of ornery. I will miss you and remember you always.  I know you knew Jesus as your Savior and will get to see you again!

The memories just keep coming-I am Pat's oldest living sister & have some memories I would like to share here because due to ill health & bad weather i cannot be there with my wonderful sibs. When i was in Wacs my lil sis Pat would send me the cuest cards & letters. When my ex left my kids & I she had me stay w/her for a week & she hated housework/cooking-I could not thread a needle-we traded skills-she had a free week of drudgery & i got some new summer clothes.Bob-you are a fine man & you & Pat were such an inspiration of what a real marriage is all about-thank you and our Lord be with you and yours. As i have told my younger sibs--we are not really leaving each other, we are gathering in a better place.Sending love,hugs prayers as always.

I remember calling from a two way radio from Southeast Asia to my wife Becky, and Pat answered the phone. She was tired and I was tired and we kept forgetting to say "over" at the end of our sentences. She and Bob were amazing people who opened their home to us. May you rest in peace Pat and may you soon be in our Lords loving hands. To Bob, I am so sorry for you loss.

I remember best about Aunt Pat a few different things...one of them was the unique way she made cheese toasties.  I also recall with vivid clarity all the gorgeous sewing things she would make. Aunt Pat was my inspiration for all the sewing I do now.  I was sorry to hear she was sick, and am saddened now for all of us that she is no longer here. Love you Aunt Pat.

Love you, Aunt Pat. I will always remember sleepovers at your house, the cereal kept in the tupperware containers, the corn growing in the backyard, your low chuckle. You raised fine boys. Thank you for being you.
