

With deep love and gratitude, we Celebrate the Life of Phillip E. Clancy, who received his wings on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana surrounded by his loving family.
Phillip E. Clancy was born on May 7, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was the cherished son of Robert and Hazel (Dorothy) Clancy.
Phillip graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne, where he played several sports.
He was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He served 3 separate tours for a total of 8 years. He worked for some of those years as a surgical technician. In 1983 Phillip received an honorable discharge.
He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Amvets.
Phillip accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized by Rev. John Dixie Sr. at Pilgrim Baptist Church and continued his membership under Pastor Sam Shade Jr., and Pastor Raymond C. Dix, Jr.
Phillip worked diligently throughout his life; he was employed by the following: Zollner, Harvester, Summit Medical, Saint Joe Hospital, and retired from the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center.
Phillip's life was one of service, faith, wisdom, and love. He was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need, and his memory will live on through all who were blessed to have known and loved him.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for singing, bowling, fishing, watching Bruce Lee movies and practicing martial arts, he found great joy while training with his nunchakus to increase his self-defense, fitness, and coordination. Phillip also enjoyed being around family and friends.
LIVING to honor his legacy, are his daughter, Angela Rae Jackson; son, Daniel Joseph McBride; granddaughter, Kyendra Williams-Jackson; siblings, Deacon John S. (Thelma) Dixie IV, Bessie (Hillard) Armstrong, Carolyn Dixie-Bryant, Estella Clancy (Deacon Robert) Paschall Jr., and Deacon Kevin (Edna) Clancy; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Clancy, Hazel (Dorothy) Allen; Chester B. Allen and Blanche Clancy; a brother, Robert James Clancy; grandparents, Estelle & Shead Jackson and George & Lula Clancy.
Funeral Service Celebrating his life will be 11:00 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Pilgrim Baptist Church 1331 Gay Street (46803), with visitation one hour prior to service. Entombment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens.
