

PHYLLIS J. ITT, 89, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Phyllis worked as a clerk with Washington Township for 25 years. She was a 77 year member of Bethel United Methodist Church and 6th generation of founders of Bethel Chapel. Present Member of American Legion #499 Ladies Auxiliary, Past President of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #296, United Methodist Women's Treasurer and Past Vice President. She loved to play rummy with grandsons and great-grandson Danny. She was in the first group of volunteer parents at Wallen Baseball League; descendent of first settlers of Washington Township. Surviving are a son, Charles L. (Jacqueline) Itt II; and daughter, Jeanne K. (Terry) Burt of Fort Wayne; sisters, Juanita Arnold, Lucretia A. Hunt; grandsons, Charles L. (Kristen) Itt, Joshua L. (Kathryn) Burt, Michael R. (Nicole) Burt; great-grandchildren, Charles Daniel Itt, Andrea Itt, Felicity, Shelby, Hannah Burt, and Jeremiah Burt due in February; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Itt; parents, Elmer M. and Carrie I. (Opliger) Cook; an infant son; brothers, William M. Cook II, Elmer H. (Bud) Cook, Kenneth E. Cook; sisters, Ruth A. Bowser, Mary L. Allen. Funeral Service is 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 8405 Lima Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Brian Campbell officiating. Calling also from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Children's Ministries.
