

RALEIGH E. MYERS, 84, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Born Dec. 31, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late John E. Myers and Madge Miller Myers. He was a fire fighter for the Fort Wayne Fire Department and a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church and Fort Wayne Turners, and was on the 1950 Central Catholic State Champion football team. Surviving are his wife, Georgean (Borkenstein) Myers of Fort Wayne; children, Janet (James) Niswonger, John (Mary) Myers, Jean (Larry) Lyons, Jodie (William) Jones, James Myers, Joe (Laura) Myers, and Joyce (Scott Lauer) Moss, all of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Father Joseph Gaughan officiating. Calling also from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with rosary service at 6 p.m. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
