Ramesh Gandhi

Ramesh Gandhi, 82, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. He was born on January 13, 1939 in Mumbai, India to the late Mathuradas and Bhanu Gandhi. He came to Fort Wayne in 1966 with his wife and has lived here ever since. Ramesh was an engineer and worked at Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Company, then at General Electric where he retired after 30 years of service. He also taught at Ivy Tech Community College as an adjunct professor and volunteered at Lutheran Hospital for several years. Ramesh was an avid sports fan, liked to play bridge, and enjoyed singing with the Bhajan Society of Fort Wayne for many years. He is survived by his wife, Niroo Ramesh Gandhi of Fort Wayne; son, Nimesh Gandhi and his wife, Alina Flisak Gandhi of Queens, NY; daughter, Madhavi Bargmann of Omaha, NE; sister, Bindu Jaswant Doshi, of Irvine, CA; and brothers, Bipin Gandhi of Bali, Indonesia and Jayant Gandhi of Mumbai, India. A funeral service will be held at 10am EST on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Memorial contributions can be made to the Fort Wayne Bhajan Society or Omkaar Temple.
