Richard Duane Key, age 90, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on November 5, 2021. He was born in Union City, IN on September 18, 1931, the son of H. Victor and Grace (Royer) Key. He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Stilts) to whom he was married since June 7, 1952; his daughters, Pamela (Verle) Heindselman, Katherine (Michael) Jones; and his son, Rick (Mary) Key; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hubert (Evelyn), Donald (Dakota and Madonna), Delbert (Phyllis); and sisters Alena Mong, Mary (Gene Baker and Gilbert) Bemis, Carol (Fred) Dickes and Jeanne (James) Lewis. He was the graduate of Union City West Side High School in 1949 and attended Richmond Business College, Indiana Technical Institute, and served in the United States Navy in the early 1950’s. He was the Boy Scout leader of Troop 490 at North Christian Church. He retired from General Electric in 1986 where he worked for many years. Private services will be held by the family. Pastor Bob Arenobine, Senior Pastor at Grace Brethren Church, will be officiating. Donations in lieu of flowers to Humane Fort Wayne or Shepherds House.
