Richard Dean Leach

Richard Dean Leach, 81, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center of Ossian, Indiana. He was born July 4, 1941 in LaOtto, Indiana, the son of the late Donald and Helen Leach Fisher.

Richard worked at Dana Corporation for over 17 years and was also the owner of Richard Leach Custom Homes since 1979. He was also a professional photographer, and, along with his wife, planted several churches. He was a member of Hicksville Cornerstone Church of Hicksville, Ohio. Richard was a great prayer-warrior for his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Leach of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Michael D. (Karla) Leach of Warsaw, IN; daughters, Debra (David) Cooke of Huntertown, IN, Lora (John) Layman of Huntington, IN; eight grandchildren, (Cody, Kaitlin, David, Shannon, Hanna, Mary, Nathan, and Izak); sister, Donna Moore of Crosby, TX; and a sister-in-law, Bev Leach of Fort Wayne, IN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry and Dennis Leach.

A funeral service to honor Richard's life and legacy will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. A visitation will also take place on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
