Robert Paul William Mayne, age 88, of Fort Wayne Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 17,2026, in Fort Wayne. Robert was born on November 5, 1937, in Windsor Ontario, Canada to William Mayne and Elizabeth Mayne.
Robert was known for his great sense of humor and for never knowing a stranger. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and enjoyed striking up conversations wherever he went. He loved gardening, fishing, his Camaro, and- most of all-spending time with his family. He took great pride in his career, retiring after 52 years of dedicated service with Bendix/Allied Signal.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Mayne; his children Robert Mayne (Tammy), Craig Mayne, Lisa Duffield (Dave), Krista Mayne-Barkey (Justin); his grandchildren Jesse, Conner, Aiden, Brayden, Tara, Devon, and Kaitlynn; and his great-grandchildren Kash and Liliana.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Mayne, and brother Jack Mayne.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation two hours prior. Committal and burial a Highland Park Cemetery.
