

Robert James “Bob” Peppler, 83, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026. He was born on October 14, 1942, in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Herbert and Winifred (Anderson) Peppler. He attended North Side High School before joining the military. Bob served our country from 1960 to 1964 in the United States Marine Corps. For 61 years, he worked as a paint and bodyman for Bell Auto Sales. He was a member of American Legion Post 241. He served on the Allen County Hockey Board for 10 years and coached the Fort Wayne Junior Pepsi Komets from 1985 to 1987, winning the regional tournament during the '86-'87 season. In his free time, Bob enjoyed watching and playing hockey, baseball, golf, and bowling. He enjoyed dancing with his wife and spending time with his family at the lake cottage. Surviving family include his wife of nearly 60 years, Vickie Peppler; son, Bob Peppler; granddaughters, Jessica (Christian) Harmeyer and Jennifer (Zachary) Katter; great grandchildren, Beau and Sadie; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brother, Herbert Peppler; sister, Pat Zehr; and half-brothers, Bill and Marion Mincoff. A funeral service honoring Bob's life will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the funeral home. Bob's final resting place will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, with Marine Corps military honors. Memorial gifts may be made to the family, c/o Vickie Peppler.
