Robert "Bob" Rauner, 69, of Hoagland, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Bob was born December 16, 1954 in Fort Wayne, son to the late Harold C. and Georgene E. (Sorg) Rauner. He worked as the manager of Automotive Marketing for 40 years alongside his longtime friend, the late Stan Spieth. Bob was an active member at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Parish where he volunteered for countless fundraisers, coached several years of boys’ basketball, and always offered a helping hand around the church and school grounds. Bob had several hobbies, his most favorite being time spent with his children, grandchildren, and more friends “than Carters got liver pills.” Bobs favorite past times included watching anything and everything his children and grandchildren were involved in; music programs, sports activities, and Hoagland Area events. Summer time you could find Bob keeping busy perfecting his flower beds, while in the fall/winter months cheering for Notre Dame Football in the infamous garage with family and friends. Go IRISH! Surviving are his children, Joseph (Jody) Rauner, Jay “Byrd” (Monica) Rauner, Emily Rauner, Elizabeth "Bizzy" (Eric) Bodie, and Jared "Bear" Rauner; grandchildren, Cameron, Beau, Elijah, Alyx, Stella, Ares, Nova, Caroline, Cruz, and Henry; and brothers, Thomas (Susie) Rauner, Sr., Gerald (Paulette) Rauner, Harold (Linda) Rauner, Richard (Nora - Deceased) Rauner, and William (Sue) Rauner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Kimberly (Hoffman) Rauner in 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, 11337 U. S. Highway 27, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816 with gathering and visitation one hour prior.
