Robert W. Warner, 92, of Roanoke passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018. He was born on November 17, 1925 in Wooster, Ohio, a son of the late George and Helen (First) Warner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Pacific Theaters with the 86th Infantry Division (Black Hawk). He worked for Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 166, at Paul R. Hosler and Shambaugh & Son. He was a member at Waynedale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and tinkering in his shop at home. Surviving family include his children, Cynthia Warner, Sandra (Miles) Davis, Robert (Tammy) Warner, Roger (Sherie) Warner; 11 grandchildren, Tim, Cindy (Ryan), Richard (April), Miles (Amanda) Diana, Seth, Kristin (Kevin), Kelli, Daniel (Lauran) Megan, Erika; and 14 great grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Addison, Zach, Alyssa, Tyler, Julia, Kelsey, Kaleb, Milo, Grady, Carter, Madelyn and Annie. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Dolores (Grist) Warner, sisters, Mildred and Rhea; and brother, Willard. Graveside service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne with military honors. Memorials may be made to the church. Greenlawn Funeral Home are handling arrangements.
