He was born on January 12, 1948, in Lawrenceburg, TN, the son of the Rev. Willie Leo Hunter and Marie G. Hunter. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Morgan, Fort Wayne, IN; three brothers, Jimmy L. Hunter (Ellen), Muncie, IN, Jack L. Hunter, (Morey), Ocala, FL, and Faron M. Hunter; two daughters, Lindsay Hunter (Cecil Scott), Fort Wayne, IN and the Rev. Shelbi Archer-Hunter (Antonio Hunter-Archer) Raleigh NC; and two grandchildren.
Roy retired from General Motors after 34 years as a plumber/pipefitter and he was a maintenance supervisor for a few years. He was a longtime member of UAW Local 2209 in Fort Wayne and Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 661 in Muncie, IN. After he retired from GM in 2020, he enjoyed landscaping activities and began every morning at the Breakfast Clubb II on West Jefferson Street, Fort Wayne, meeting friends and making new ones.
