Sadonna A. Ake

Sadonna A. Ake, 78, of Poe, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born on March 17, 1944 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late Elvis and Esther (Meyer) Dettmer. Sadonna was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, coloring, talking on the phone and baking. She also had a passion for spending time at the lake and time with her family. Sadonna is survived by her son, Kent (Becky) Ake; daughter, Donia (Phil) Gerken; granddaughter, Allana Ake; brother, Galen Dettmer; and sister, Charlene Branstrator. She was also preceded in passing by her husband, Gary Ake in 1993. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Marks Lutheran Church 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for funerals 6810 Old Trail Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809. Burial to follow the service at Poe Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Poe Cemetery, St. Mark Lutheran Church or Stillwater Hospice.
