Sandra Kay Berger, 66, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023. Born on December 31, 1956, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Barbara (Kieler) Elkins. She was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, and retired from Messenger, Auburn, in 2015, after 25 years of service. She loved spending time with her family, was a delightfully simple woman, and was an excellent cook. Her two greatest joys were the Florida sunshine, and her grandbabies.
She is also survived by her husband of more than 47 years, Terry Berger; children, Shaun (Lindsay) Berger, Lisa (Kyle) Smith, and Kyle (Kristiana) Berger; grandchildren, Landan, Colton, Elin, Isla, and Carter; Aunt Mame; siblings; Cindy (Bob) Nobles, Norman Elkins, Steven Elkins, and Jeannette (Tim) Gage; siblings-in-law, Katrina (Dennis) Messersmith, Angela Purvis, and Matthew (Laura) Berger; as well as a host of numerous close family and friends.
Funeral service will be 3:00pm, Friday, July 21, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 7914 West Cook Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from Noon until time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Heart Association.
