Sandy was born in Pampa, Texas on April 15, 1946, to Lila and Isam Middaugh. She attended Iowa Park High School until receiving her GED in her senior year. She attended college courses at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne. She had many long careers in a couple of different fields. The majority of her working life was in the banking industry in some capacity. She was still actively working for Acosta as a Retail Merchandiser; a job which she loved.
Mom was the most amazing, intelligent, stubborn, loving, strong-willed, gentle, kind-souled woman and as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Her strength was a force to be reckoned with and her ability to bond her family emulated. She loved being married to her best friend for almost 52 years and their marriage was an example to be followed. Her family could not have asked for or had or wanted for a better matriarch (wife, mother, grandmother (Memaw), great grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, friend). She enjoyed cooking (making cookies at Christmas); spending time with family; playing games, such as: Skip-Bo, Rummikub, Uno, and Euchre; driving around looking at Christmas lights; and just participating in activities that involved spending time with her children. She left a lasting impact on the people who knew her and a sense of ease with people who crossed her path.
“Mom, we loved you, we love you now, and we will love you forever; ‘thank you’ cannot express how grateful we were/are for you; with graciousness for all that you have done/been, Mom (from your appreciative children, Rich, Sandy, Les, and Christina); to know her is to love her.” “You were the glue that held us together and the strength we depended upon.”
She is survived by her loving sons: Rich (Sondra) Turner, Leslie Funk, III; daughters: Sandy (Kevin) Bougher, Christina Funk; grandsons: Greg Moyer, Zane Bougher; granddaughters Cassidy Bougher, Wyette and Adelaide Funk; great grandsons: Jace and Callen Moyer; sister-in-law Renee (Mike) Weber; and brother: David (Mary) Middaugh; and nieces and nephews.
