It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother, Sandra Ann Ruth DiLoreto Oehm. She was 79 years old when she passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025. She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on July 26, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Richard and Virginia (Lyons) Groom. She grew up in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and she graduated from Marshfield High School in Massachusetts. She went on to work in the office at Cricket Lane Casual Apparel Company. But her biggest pride and joy in her life was being a wife to Bill, mother to her four children and a Nana.
There are so many amazing things about our Mom, Sandy, it's hard to only name a few, but we will try not to go on and on. She had so great of an impact in the lives of those who loved her, and whom she loved, that the impact will live on and on through many generations. Sandy had such a delightful sense of humor, she could just be so goofy and she loved to regale us with lots of stories of her silliness. She was a mother, wife and friend that was so loyal and such a good listener. If you just needed someone to talk to she would be there. Her love was just so perfect and selfless that she would drop everything just to be there for you. She made sure to get on plane to be with all of her children and grandchildren as often as she could. When she came for extended visits with us she would get down on the floor and play with the kids when they were little, and as they grew, she would chat with them about their lives, give them lots of Nana hugs and play war and double solitaire too. She also would spoil everyone she loved rotten by taking us shopping to pick things out at the store. Or she would spoil us by doing all of our laundry and folding our clothes (even asking us how we like our bath towels folded) or treating us all to dinner, that's how thoughtful she was.
Sandy loved her family and friends with all her heart and told them often, how much they meant to her. She loved to pass the time by doing puzzles, reading heartfelt novels, watching Hallmark movies and playing games on her phone. Sandy also loved to decorate her cozy and beautiful home with arts and crafts she made herself. She was so good at it and most of those things were blue (her favorite color). Sandy was one special lady and our hearts are just broken to have to say good-bye to her. She will never be forgotten and will live on in all of the beautiful memories we have with her over the past 79 years. She had an amazing faith in God and we know she is at rest with him, Kerri and Rachel now.
Sandy is survived by her husband, William Oehm; children, Lisa (Manny), John (Suzy) and James (Corinne); 12 grandchildren, Cori, Cameron, Mark, Justin, Joseph, Christopher, Evan, Julia, Joshua, Greyson, Andrew, and Lakelyn; and her three great grandchildren, Tristan, Blaine & Rowen. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kerri; and her granddaughter, Rachel. We have not planned her services yet, as many family members have to travel to be present. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Sandy and Bill’s home. Please contact the family via Facebook message with any questions about the celebration of life.
