Sean Michael Bailer

Sean Michael Bailer was a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana born May 26, 1969. He passed from this life at the age of 56 on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at home.

Sean was a graduate of Millington High School, Class of 1987, in Millington, Michigan, where he played football and baseball. For many years, he worked at Ziffle's and Little Caesar's Restaurants.

Sean was married to Rebecca (nee' Young) Bailer, who preceded him in death in 2022 after 30 years of marriage.

Sean will be remembered as a faithful, compassionate, honest, and kind-hearted person. He was also thoughtful and funny.

He leaves to cherish many cherished memories to his loving mother, Carol (Bill) McKinney; two brothers, Norman (Debbie) Smith and Paul Smith; his nephews that he loved, Vaughan Smith and Spencer Smith; and like a niece, Kennedy; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Sean was also preceded in death by his dad, Stephan Smith who raised him; his grandparents, Helen Robbins and Roy and Jo Smith.

He was an avid sports fan of the Colts, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Komets Hockey teams. He loved going to music concerts and was known for being a Karaoke DJ, a website builder, and an online-gamer.

Above all, Sean enjoyed spending time with his family—especially his aunts, uncles, and cousins—and going to the zoo with the kids.

Though he is no longer with us his lasting impression will live in all who knew him.

A Celebration of Sean's Life will be 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Prairie Landing Clubhouse, 1335 Prairie Landing Parkway, Fort Wayne (46804).
