Shannon Morgan Burcham, 46, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on December 24, 2018, surrounded by his family at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis as a result of complications from a multiple organ transplant. Shannon battled liver disease with courage and quiet dignity for the last fifteen years.
Born in Huntington, West Virginia on June 13, 1972, he grew up in Chesapeake, Ohio. He moved to The Woodlands, Texas at 16 and graduated from McCullough High School in 1990. In 2009, he moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to be with family.
Shannon was an avid traveler, especially loving the beach. He mastered anything he put his mind to: construction projects around the house, repairing a car, creating flower gardens, building furniture and decorations, and cooking fantastic meals. He was also kind, giving, compassionate, and funny. His quick wit and sense of humor will be missed. Shannon had a deep love for his family as well as his pets and animals in general, and he was a member of the ASPCA. For those who knew Shannon, the world is a lesser place without him.
He is survived by his mother, Marsha A. Burcham, and his sister, Tiffany Burcham, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Shannon was preceded in death by his father, William E. Burcham, his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Shirley Rubina Frieze, and his paternal grandparents, Otto and Hazel Burcham.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
