IN THE CARE OF

Steven A. Rothgeb passed from this earthly life and transitioned to the next on November 24, 2025, after a valiant battle with maladies as a result of his service to the nation.

Steve, affectionately known as “Fuzz”, to those closest to him, was born in Bluffton, Indiana on January 07, 1951. He spent his childhood years in the Fort Wayne area, and most of his adult life in Woodburn, Indiana.

Steve was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam (1968-1973) where he was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries received at the hands of the enemy. After his Honorable Discharge from the Service, Steve married Connie G. Ward and moved to the city of Woodburn, where he resided until his passing.

Steve is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie G.; daughter, Dawn Ashley; granddaughters, Kira and Kaylee; step-father, Art; In-Laws, Ken and Melanie; Cynthia and Ken; Keri and Lee; Karen and Kevin; nieces and nephews, Amanda and Gene; Todd and Michelle; Logan and Beth; Karli; Matt and Aly; Brandon and Abby; Ryan and Stephanie; uncle and aunt, Ed and Patricia; cousins, Alison and Matt; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary; his mother-in-law and father-in law, Dorris and Ken; his sister-in-law, Kristi; and brother-in-law, Kert.

Steve was a proud Union Iron Worker and worked at Art Iron in New Haven for 25 years, retiring in April, 2013.

Steve was truly appreciative of his neighbors who stepped up to help when his illnesses prevented him from performing normal household chores.

A Celebration of Steve's life will take place at a later date.
