Susan M. Wallis

Susan M. Wallis, 96, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022. Born on October 9, 1925, in Frankfort, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Buryl and Edith (nee Hufford) Johnson. Susan was a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Wayne, and retired from Mutual Security after many years of service. She was an avid artist, who loved spending time with her family, and taking trips to West Virginia. She was also fond of nature and animals. Susan was a very loving and kind person who would give you the clothes off her back. She loved cooking and baking from scratch. Susan is survived by her husband, Hugh Wallis; daughter, Diane (David) Lothamer; step-children, Jim (Laura) Wallis, and Jan (Jeff) Wulbert; grandchildren, Dawn (Keith) Harter, Deborah (Josh) Schenkel, and Daniel (Melissa) Lothamer; step-grandchildren, Katie (Brandon) Baker, Kevin Wallis, Jennifer Polizzi, Justin (Carlena) Wulbert, and Josh Wulbert; great-grandchildren, Mason, Morgan, Owen, Lucas, Joshua, Maddison, Makenna, Lorenzo, Isabella, Jack, June, Benjamin, Eli, Hannah, and Clara; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Hedges; daughter, Patricia Hedges; and brother, Oase Johnson. A funeral service to honor Susan's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling from 10:00 am, until time of service. She will be laid to rest at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be directed to First Baptist Church, Fort Wayne.
