Taylor Leah James, 11, passed away December 2, 2025, surrounded by her family at Cincinnati Children's Hospital after a long battle with her mitochondrial disease. She was born on January 8, 2014, in Fort Wayne, IN.
Taylor loved spending time with her family and being a mother hen to her siblings. She enjoyed taking walks in her wagon, blowing bubbles, watching movies, and listening to her favorite Disney songs. Taylor was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs. She loved bedtime stories and reading with her sister. Taylor had a loving personality and an infectious smile that could light up any room. She was a true warrior who made an impression on every life she touched, including doctors, nurses and staff who cared for her during hospital stays.
She is survived by her parents, Brad and Kalyn James; brothers, Cooper and Brady; and sister, Kylee. Taylor is also survived by her grandmother, Karyn Heiney; and grandparents, Brian and Sheri James.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, December 12, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN.
