Vernon Herbert Thompson, 59, passed away at home on Friday, September 19, 2025. Born on January 15, 1966, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to parents Herbert Vernon Thompson and Joie (Anderson) Thompson, Vernon was beloved by so many. He married his wife, Barbara Whiteman-Thompson, on January 15, 2021, and the two went on to make many cherished memories together. Vernon had a deep love for the outdoors. He spent many hours of his free time connecting with nature through hunting and fishing. He also had a passion for shooting and would often visit a local shooting range to precise his skills. When it came to his dirt bikes, few things made him smile more than the roar of their engines. For Vernon, the outdoors gave him a sense of adventure and brought great joy to his life. Vernon is survived by his wife, Barbara Whiteman-Thompson; mother, Joie Thompson; children, Brandon Thompson and Brittney Thompson; three grandchildren; and sister, Donna Thompson. He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Vernon Thompson. Vernon will be laid to rest at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
