

WILLIAM "BILL" O. GOTSCHALL, 83, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at Kingston Residence, in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Bill graduated from North Side High School and earned his bachelors in electrical engineering from Purdue University. He was a Vietnam War Era Army veteran. Bill worked with Magnavox for 25 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Bill's passion was singing. He was active in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Chorus for over 30 years. He also sang in the groups: Lutheran Men of Song, and Maennerchor Chor. He also enjoyed hiking, walking, and coin collecting. Surviving are his wife, Christel (Lakowitz) Gotschall of Fort Wayne; son, Patrick Gotschall of Chicago, Ill.; daughter, Katrina (Mike) Sheets of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Michaela, Maygan, Monika, Kyle, Kaleb, and Karsten Sheets; and sister, Kathryn Joan Gotschall of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Katherine Gotschall. Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
