William P. Grimme, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away April 10, 2015 at Ashton Creek and Rehabilitation. He was born April 23, 1928 in Fort Wayne to the late Theodore and Esther (Graham) Grimme. He retired as lead courier from the American Red Cross in 2010 after 15 years. He had been active in Little League and Pony League Baseball along with Cub and Boy Scouts. He played basketball, football, and track at Central High School and played semi-pro football for St. Joe Athletic Club. Surviving are his children, Linda Grimme of Bryan, OH, William “Bill” (Judy) Grimme of Panama, Michael (Jean) Grimme of Fort Wayne, and Beth (Stan) Smith of Bowling Green, OH; nine grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Grimme in 1981. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
