

Billy attended Southside High School during freshman year, and transferred to Carroll High School for his sophomore year, where he graduated in 2016. He had interest in furthering his education and had attended Ivy Tech College, studying Cyber Security and Technology. Billy later expressed following his parents' footsteps and hoped to own his own business, changing his degree to Business.
He was proud of his accomplishments and took pride in working hard at Lewis Bakery. While there, he joined the union, and learned to work in several different departments: monitoring machinery, lifting huge 50lb bags of flour into large mixing bowls, and making dough for a variety of breads, which filled the air of downtown Fort Wayne with the aroma of freshly baked bread.
Billy had started attending Zion Lutheran Church for a few months and started bible study classes. He enjoyed learning about faith, spirituality, and guidance on how to follow and worship God. He wanted to explore the Catholic faith, having most recently attended the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. He was always a knowledge seeker, wanting to learn and know more.
When Billy was young, he enjoyed collecting Lego sets and loved building intricate cars/trucks, buildings, and ships. At 8 years old, he was especially proud of building The Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and the ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean, out of Legos.
Billy was an adventurous person, enjoying long bike and car rides listening to music. He liked alternative/Indie, lofi, pop, rock/metal, EDM and rap music. Some of his favorite bands were Breaking Benjamin, The Killers, and Blink 182. He especially enjoyed watching and listening to Taylor Swift. As well as the video game soundtrack: Halo, which he enjoyed playing often. Billy had a philosophical viewpoint of the world and the biggest heart of gold. He was full of love for his family and always thinking about helping other people. He loved to spend time outside on his patio after work watching the ducks and geese swim in the pond, and watching the fountain glisten in the sunshine in his backyard. Billy also enjoyed spending time with his family, often grabbing lunch with his mother. Some of Billy’s favorite foods were: chicken & cheese quesadillas, egg sandwiches, and pepperoni pizza. He was a great cook and really knew how to add a splash of flavor to food. He was a wonderful person with a fun sense of humor, always making people laugh and finding the joy in things. He could brighten a room with his smile, laugh, and jokes.
As an adult, his creativity developed and he skillfully produced unique sculptures out of found objects and everyday items such as coat racks, hangers, miscellaneous wires, etc. He had a very creative mind, and was able to create art easily. He also enjoyed making abstract art and landscape scenery by drawing and painting with acrylic and oil paints.
Billy is survived by his parents, Babi (Steve) Beyer of Huntertown, IN and William A. Stabler; sisters, Brandie (David) Blum of Roanoke, IN, Brittanie Stabler of San Francisco, CA, Brooke (Dane Pikel) Stabler of Garrett, IN, Blair Stabler of Huntertown, IN; niece, Olivia Blum, and nephew, Mason Blum of Roanoke, IN; grandmother Angie Reed of Fort Wayne, IN; aunts and uncles Cortina Cottle, Linda Bass, Vanessa (Brian) Kamphues; and cousins, Jeffrey, Austin and Julia Cottle, Samantha Alvarez, Felicia Reifsnider, Owen Kamphues and Jesse Kamphues all of Fort Wayne, IN.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Robert “Bob” Thomas, Richard “Rick” Reed, Betty Worthington-Stabler, William Allen Sprow; uncle Allen Thomas; and cousin Christopher Bass all of Fort Wayne, IN.
Billy is a kind soul and loved taking care of animals, including adopting a black cat he named Eclipse. He loved helping his mother take care of her fish tanks that included many Goldfish, Angel fish, a Pleco catfish and Marvin the Turtle. As well as the other family pets, including Tasha the Tabby, Supercat the Maine Coon, and Kitt, Momo and Buddy the Tuxedos. Billy especially loved taking care of his childhood pet, Nala the cattle dog, to the Doggie Park at his apartment complex, Canterbury Green.
Visitation will take place Friday, May 3, 2024 from 4-8 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home – Lakeside Park 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Services will then take place Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 1 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home – Lakeside Park 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation one hour prior.
Due to his passion of animals, we decided we would like any Memorial Contributions made to go towards the Humane Fort Wayne Animal Shelter.
