

Alonzo Hardy was born on November 30, 1944, in Grandview, Texas to the parentage of I.W. and Juanita Hardy. Alonzo was a graduate of Jeanette Sanford High School Class of 1963. After high school, Alonzo enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964, and in 1968 he was Honorably Discharged.
After returning back home from the Air Force, Alonzo met and married the love of his life, Peggy Hardy in 1971, and to this union Katrina Rochelle was born. Alonzo attended Tarrant County Junior College and received an Associate of Arts degree in 1975. Alonzo wanted to further his education, and by doing so he enrolled in and attended the University of Texas at Arlington with a Major in Sociology and a Minor in Psychology. Alonzo served as the Director for the Human Relations Commission for the City of Fort Worth. In 2009, Alonzo retired after 30 years of dedicated service and began enjoying fishing and living life. Alonzo was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church for 20+ years, where he served in several capacities.
On December 19, 2020, God dispatched a chariot to carry Alonzo from labor to reward. He is preceded in death by his parents, I.W. and Juanita Hardy; and brother, Cato Hardy. Those who remain to cherish his precious memories are his daughter, Katrina Rochelle Hardy; grandchildren, Jasmine and Darion Lane, Rae’Sheon Clay, and Landon Blair; sister, Jeanette Hamilton; brother, Isaac W. Hardy of Bastrop; six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
