Andrea Jean Shields

A Visitation for Andrea will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112. Following the visitation will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Jeremy Howard, officiating.

Andrea was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Andrew J. and Lillian Barnett on July 17th, 1945. She graduated from Eastern Hill High School in 1962 and shortly thereafter met her lifelong love and best friend, James Rodney Shields. They married on March 1st, 1968 in Fort Worth, and shared their lives together for 56 years living in Fort Worth, Houston, Crowley and Granbury. Her favorite place to be though, was anywhere in Hawaii. She was a stay-at-home mother while raising their children, and then worked as a cashier for several retailers before retiring. She loved to read, kept up with pop culture and spent as much time as she could with her family.

Andrea is preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Lillian Barnett and her daughter, Karrie Janeene Shields Huffman.

She is survived by her husband, James and their son, James Richard Shields, cousin Charles B Renfro and wife Nancy, stepson Rod Proffitt and wife April, brother-in-law Tim Shields and wife Connie, sister in-law Terri Reaves and husband Mike, and her much loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
