Ann Clayton

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Shannon Funeral Home, 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76148.

A graveside service to honor her memory will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Oakwood Cemetery, Jacksboro, Texas, with Pastor Randy Sheridan of Faith Creek Church officiating.

Ann Clayton was born in Throckmorton, Texas, to William Walter Rinehart and Effie Nora Dodson on April 26, 1936. She attended school in Throckmorton, Texas. She met and married the love of her life, Bobby Gene Clayton, on June 22, 1957, at First Assembly of God Church in Olney, Texas. She worked for various companies including Southwestern Bell, General Dynamics, Tandy Corporation and as a nanny for numerous families for many years. She was involved in women’s ministries throughout her life and was an ordained minister through the Assemblies of God.

Ann Clayton was a dedicated Christian all of her life and served as church secretary for many years. She was a member of her church choir and was part of the nursing home ministry.

Ann Clayton is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Bobby Gene Clayton; her parents, William and Effie Rinehart; two sisters and six brothers.

Ann Clayton is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Gomez and Denise Hill; sons-in-law, Manuel Gomez and Dennis Hill; six grandchildren, Justin Whitmire, Krystle Cox, Erika Ferry, Ashlyn Hobbs, Lauren Hill, Skylar Hill; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Justin Whitmire, Austin Ferry, Jared Hobbs, Jeff Lewis, Patrick Petersen and James Cox.
