Arnulfo Jose “Joe” Arcos, was born in Balmorhea, TX to Amada and Jose Arcos on January 1, 1937. Joe attended and graduated from high school in Midland, Texas, and spent his entire working career with H.B. Zachary Construction Company. In 1960 he married the love of his life, Mary Acros, and was the proud father of four daughters: Zelda, Zeida, Angie, and Allena. Joe spent his life in service of others, beginning with his time in the United States Army, as a founding Alderman of the City of Cross Timber, TX, 15 years as Lead Volunteer and Volunteer of the Year at Huguley Hospital, through many hours spent growing and supporting St. Ann Catholic Church, and most importantly, in his cherished relationships with family and friends.
Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed reading his daily newspaper, working outside in his garden, watching and playing golf, baseball, football, and boxing competitively, attending dances, and spending time laughing and sharing stories with loved ones. He is remembered as a humble leader of people, a hard worker with high expectations for himself and others around him, for his intelligent mind and generous heart, his faithful love of God, and for his fun-loving spirit.
