Audrey Mae Singleton was born July 02, 1957 to George and Hattie Anderson in Beaumont, Texas. She attended Carver Elementary, Dunbar Jr. High and Herbert High School. She was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of McNeese State University with a Masters Degree in Education. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Suma Cum Laude.
On January 6, 1975 she married B B Singleton and to the union Aaron and Joy.
She began her Christian journey at the age of 15 as a faithful member of Christ Gospel Church, continuing until her death. She was a wonderful example to everyone on how to live your life for Christ. For the past few years she attended both Christ Gospel Church in Dallas and Destiny Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.
She retired after 30 years of dedicated teaching service in Calcasieu Parish P.S.D. and Ft. Worth I.S.D. Her positions as Literacy Coach, Dyslexia teacher, Special Education teacher, Master Reading and Reading Recovery teacher and Cadre Trainer for the Avenue's ESL program were steppingstones for young students and teachers to obtain their goals in education.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, George and Hattie Anderson; sister, Clarissa Anderson; grandchildren, Jeremiah and Karisma; and nephew, Jonathan Anderson.
Left to Cherish her memory, husband, B B Singleton son, Aaron Singleton (Dixie); daughter, Joy Newkirk; grandsons, Joshua Newkirk, Devonte Singleton, and Robbie Mathews; sisters, Georgia Glover, Cynthia Harmon, and Barbara Lewis; brothers, George Anderson Jr., David Anderson, and Bruce Anderson; and a host of beautiful and precious in-laws; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
