Augusta FRANKLIN, age 74, of Forest Hill, Texas passed away on Thursday June 25, 2020. Augusta was born February 10, 1946 in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana to her late parents John Anderson Franklin and Annie Mae Outley Franklin.
Augusta moved to Fort Worth in 1973 uniting with Mount Zion Baptist Church, at her demise she was a member of Higher Dominion Bible Fellowship.
In 1970 she obtained her B.S. in Secondary Education majoring in English and Speech from Southern University A & M College. In 1981 she obtained her Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University of Texas. In 1983 she obtained State Board for Educator Certification to be a Counselor for Grades PK-12.
Augusta served as an educator for close to 30 years. She served as an Elementary school counselor and a Middle School Teacher. Even after her retirement she continued to teach by assisting people with their GED/ Adult Education Programs and writing recommendations letters as needed for her students. She received an appreciation award from the Board of Education for her many years of loyal and efficient service to the youth and community of the Fort Worth Independent School District. She was passionate about education and preparing students for a better future.
Augusta was the 13 th of 14 siblings, who all proceeded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her nephew, John Allen Franklin of Cedar Hill, Texas; two great nephews, Deshawn Franklin of Junction City, Kansas, Preston Jay Franklin of Cedar Hill, Texas; one great niece Jasmine Perkins of Austin, Texas; godchildren, many nephews, nieces friends and former students.
Augusta was known and loved by many. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
