

Betty Lou Bennett was born on October 10, 1935, in Mexia, Tx to the late Lloyd Smith and Lucille Lampkin-Smith. She lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and fellowship.
Betty was educated at Dunbar-Douglass High School in Mexia, where she laid the foundation for a life marked by strength and devotion. She later made her home in Fort Worth, where she became a cherished member of Carter Metropolitan CME Church.
Betty accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. In 1958, Betty married Rudolph Bennett. From that union they were blessed to have raised 3 daughters, Debra, Vanessa and La Nena. Betty dedicated her life as a homemaker and poured her heart into raising her children.
Family was at the heart of Betty’s life. Whether enjoying music, sharing good food, shopping or planning her next travel adventure. Betty embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm. She loved sharing stories of her childhood, reminding ones to cherish the small joys of life. On July 12, 2025, Betty completed her earthly journey and was welcomed to her eternal home by our Heavenly Father.
Betty was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Rudolph Bennett. Her brothers James Smith and Billy Smith.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Debra Bennett, Vanessa Baker (Donald), and La Nena Bennett. Sisters Mary Nelson and Yvonne Washington. Brother Pat Smith
Granddaughter, Dione Bennett-Wade, Great-Granddaughter, Brianna Jackson, Great-Grandsons, Kirtis Wade and Kaleb Wade; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
