

Bobby Gene Moss, age 84, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 15, 2023, in The Kobacher House, a hospice facility located in Columbus, OH. He was born May 7, 1939 in Electra, TX to Artella Davis (who later changed her name to LaRuth Hamilton) and James B. Stewart. When he was 5, Bobby was adopted by Lacy Moss and acquired the last name of Moss.
He played basketball in school but incurred a knee injury which led to surgery and ended his basketball days. He in turn dropped out of school to join the Air Force but was too young so his year of birth was changed to 1938. With his mother’s signature and the new year of birth, he joined the Air Force August 5, 1955, and after 28 years of service, he retired September 30, 1983.
The Air Force allotted him travels to many places including Thailand, Istanbul, Germany, Wyoming, Colorado and Ohio to name a few. While stationed in Columbus, OH, Rickenbacker Air Force Base, he received his GED from Central High School and met Mary Radcliff. This relationship produced his only daughter.
Bobby had a beautiful smile, intelligence, charisma and very comical at times. He also was an advent pinochle player and whenever his daughter visited him, he would have the players and the place already designated for a night of pinochle.
He was preceded in death by his mother, LaRuth Hamilton; biological father, James Stewart; adopted father, Lacy Moss; uncles, Cleo, David, Leonard, and Norman; aunts, Velma, Helen, Aline, and Elizabeth.
Bobby’s memory will forever be in the hearts of his daughter, Candace Radcliff (AKA Candy); honorary daughters, Cindy and Cathy Radcliff; grandsons Nathan (Danielle) and Lawrence Radcliff, all of Columbus, OH; honorary granddaughters, Nicole and Dezalyn Jones of Fort Worth, TX; great grandson Za`Mien Radcliff and great granddaughter Za`Riyah Radcliff and a plethora of cousins and friends.Bobby Gene Moss, age 85, of Unknown passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023.
