Burleson, TX - Charles Mace Blanton, Jr., 96, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family, on February 22, 2017, which was his 70th wedding anniversary. He was a devoted husband, dad, and papaw.
A service at the grave site will be at 12:00, Saturday, February 25th, at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Ft. Worth. Family will receive friends for visitation at 11:00 prior to the service.
Mace was born on July 8, 1920 in Santa Anna, Texas to Charles M. and Bonnie Blanton. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. As a young man, Mace worked as a display supervisor for Rexall Drugs in Ft. Worth. Upon leaving Rexall, he became self employed as a sign painter, whose work could be seen throughout the Metroplex.
Mace was a member of Polytechnic Lodge #925, a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mace is survived by his wife of 70 years, Parilee L. (Betty) Blanton; son, Charles M. (Mike) Blanton III; daughter, Karla Ellis and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Jason Ellis and wife, Christin; Courtney Peets and husband, Eric; Great-grandchildren, Lauren and Jace Ellis, Zakary and Bodhi Peets.
