

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Clifford Lee King, who left us on February 5, 2026, at the age of 78. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on April 1, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, Cliff was the son of Jesse and Ruby King. Cliff graduated from W.H. Adamson HIgh School in 1965. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force, including one tour in Vietnam. He also served as a reserve member of the Fort Worth Police Department, and retired from the Tarrant County Adult Supervision and Corrections Department. Cliff enjoyed visiting with his family and friends; he was an avid car enthusiast, loved trying new restaurants, and appreciated a good cup of coffee. He truly cared for everyone he came across.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanna Ferguson King; daughter, Jessica Lauren McDowell; son-in-law, James P. McDowell; sister, Karen King Leeper (Scott); brother-in-law, Earl L. Ferguson Jr. (Peggy); grandson, Chase McDowell (Ashton); great-grandchildren, Addison and Bryson McDowell; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews; and many dear friends.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jesse O. King; sister-in-law, Sheila F. Place; brothers-in-law, Landon C. Ferguson (Rhonda) and John F. Ferguson.
The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of Cliff's life for visitation to be held at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026 located at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth on 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Cliff's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
