

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel with Dr. Don Newbury officiating. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texas Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired, or American Cancer Society.
Clifford was born Dec. 26, 1932, one of nine children, born in Allen, Okla., but quickly moved to Texas. He graduated from Handley High School, and shortly there after married the love of his life, Billie Storey on Jan. 26, 1952. He excelled in all sports, but his first love was football. Clifford was the only player in Fort Worth chosen to play in the annual High School All-Star football games. He had numerous offers for scholarships, but chose the Texas Longhorns for which he played for four years, then signed a contract to play with the Ottawa Canada Rough Riders.
The family would like to give its sincere thanks to Community Hospice at Arlington Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care that was given to Clifford and the family.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
Survivors: He is survived by beloved wife, Billie Polk of Arlington; daughter, Debbie Gargis and husband, Ron, of Fort Worth; son, Jim Polk of Simi Valley, Calif.; brother-in-law, Bob Storey and his wife, Marvel; special grandsons, Brad and Marc Gargis and his wife, Melanie; special great-grandchildren, Larran and Lance Roberts; great-granddaughter, Rhyan Gargis; nephews, Bob, Bill and Doug; nieces, Rebecca, Sandra, Brenda and Cheryl.
