

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel Gallardo Garcia, who left us on December 1, 2025 at the age of 72. He was a beloved Brother, Uncle, Godfather, friend and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Born on August 22, 1953 in Celina, Ohio, Daniel was the child of Gregoria and Jose Angel Garcia. Throughout his life, Daniel was known for his love of Art, Music, Sci-fi in all its media, his devotion to his family and his joy in teaching future generations. Daniel leaves behind a legacy painted with the colors of a life truly dedicated to art. Daniel shared his passion for Art and knowledge as a Fine Arts and Special Education teacher for the Houston Independent School District for 33 years. From his earliest days, Daniel’s world was one of pigment and passion, a canvas where every stroke told a story and every creation was a piece of his soul. Daniel was a true creative spirit, finding joy and meaning in painting, sculpting, devoting his time and energy to the Arts.
Daniel is survived with deep sorrow by Sisters; Leticia Alviar, Juanita Reyes, Delia Garcia, Brothers Joel Garcia, Guadelupe Garcia, Godsons Juan Alviar III, Charles Lacy, Goddaughters Crystal Alviar, Corrina Alviar, Best friend of over 45 years Raymond Bruce Lacy, dozens of nieces and nephews and many more family and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his partner of 22 years Darryl Tyus, parents Gregoria and Jose Angel Garcia, Siblings Peter Garcia, Feliciano Roel Garcia, Julian Garcia, Lydia Palomino, Ofelia Sandoval, and Jose Angel Jr.
The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.Daniel Gallardo Garcia’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
