I was looking up photos of pastors who influenced me throughout the years and just now saw the news that Dr. Becker passed on. My condolences to you Melissa and your family. Your husband always reminded me of John Wayne and I've never met such a big, strong and loving man such as Pastor David. Though my time at FBC Granbury was short lived, I truly appreciated the pastor's teachings. We will all be together in heaven some day and I can't wait to know this great man for eternity.

So sorry to hear of Pastor David's passing.  He will be greatly missed as he has touched so many people.  He was such a "Gentle Giant!"  Melissa, you and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I want you to know how sorry I am for your loss. David was a great pastor and teacher. I really enjoyed getting to know him and your family when you were with FBC Muskogee. I am so sad to hear this.  He Baptized me at Selden Baptist Church, taught me Algebra, and took us all on a church ski trip when I was a teen.  He gave a beautiful service at my mom's funeral.  I know that Heaven is rejoicing to bring this Angel Home.  But I wish I could have talked to him one last time.  When he reached out to me on Facebook back in December, I said I would call.  He gave me his number and email....But I never did.  Life is so precious.  He had a profound effect on my life thirty years ago and still today he is teaching me!  God Bless you, Melissa! He was there for us when my Mom passed away 5 years ago, and it meant so much to me that he reached out to us and went to visit my Dad in the hospital this past November just before he passed away. I was so sad to hear of David's death. We grew up together in FBC Stephenville where his daddy baptized me. David, RG, and I spent many Sunday nights together at FBC. Even as a child he had a sweet spirit and love for God. My love and condolences to all of his family.

I was so sad to  hear of Brother David's passing.  He was so kind to come sit with my mother when she was very ill and he would meet with her in the intercessory prayer room one morning a week to pray for church members.  Melissa....you are certainly in my prayers for peace, strength, and comfort for the days ahead.

We are so thankful for the privilege of having known David for many years, starting at UHBC. He was a wonderful pastor, teacher, and friend. We were thankful to keep in touch over the years, even meeting again a few years ago in Granbury. We are praying for Melissa and the entire family.

So sorry to learn of this.  I served with David as Minister of Music (Interim) at University Heights BC in the late 80's.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear this. David had a huge impact on my life. We grew up together and he was always a true leader and role model, even as a kid. There really are no words to describe our thoughts about Bro. David's passing. Shocked, sad, unbelievable! Just know your family will be in our prayers in the days and weeks to come.  Bro. David was one of the best pastors, preachers that we ever had the privilege to know.  He was a friend and an encourager and he will be missed by many.  Praise God we will all see him again one day.

David Becker was my friend.  He was pastor at University Heights when my in-laws joined there. We were active together in the life of Texas Baptists.  Our prayers are with his family and friends.

I give thanks for the life of David Becker and pray for comfort and strength for the family.  I was blessed to know David at Baylor, Southwestern Seminary, and in the years following.  I am saddened by this news but rejoice in his life of faithful service and in our hope in God through Christ Jesus.

David Becker was one of God's great men and a true friend to me and my family. I am so shocked and saddened to hear of his untimely passing, but I know he is in the arms of the Lord he loved and served. He exemplified Christ in all that he did. He ordained me into the ministry 20 years ago. It was because of his love and care for me that I am even in ministry. I pray God's blessings on Melissa and the family. It was a true honor to have had him as my pastor and co-laborer.

I shared a birthdate and many baseball, football and basketball memories from grade school through high school with David.  He was a good friend and a good man.
