

Dennis Lyle Sandegren, 79, passed away on January 26th in his NRH, Texas home surrounded by his loving family, in whom will miss him greatly. The visitation will be on March 1st from 5-7pm and the funeral will be on March 3rd at 10:30am. Both services will be held at First Assembly of God DFW 3800 HWY 121 Bedford, Tx. (the service will be live streamed),followed by a short grave side service at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Dennis was born August 30, 1942 in Johnston, Iowa to Rudolph and Ester Sandegren.
He graduated in 1962 from Tech High. In 1964, he enlisted in the Navy and married his beloved Donna Thomas. Dennis honorably served his country during the Vietnam War upon the USS Valley Forge from 1964-1967. He then went on to being a loving and devoted husband and father. Dennis and Donna raised their family in Altoona and in Pt. Hill before moving to Texas in 2005. Dennis provided for his family working at Diamond Lab, Highland Potato Chips, Little Debbie and then retired in 2002 from Frito-Lay, but retirement was not for him, he then went on to work for Home Depot from 2006-2022. Dennis lived a life by the motto God, Family, Country and he served them all well. His greatest achievements were raising his family in a Christ centered home, serving his country, his active rolls within the Republican Party from 1978-2021 and most importantly he served God with all his heart. His many enjoyments were fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Donna of 56 years, 2 daughters, Daune (Dawn) with husband Kevin Messenger and Margie with husband Lee Simms, 3 grandsons, Alex with wife Megan Simms, Chandler Simms and Zachary Simms and 1 great-grandson, Jonas Simms, all from Bedford, Tx. Also survived by brother James with wife Sue and Sisters Lois and Frances, along with many nieces and nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Richard and sisters Ione and Dorothy and 1 great-granddaughter Ada Lynn Simms.
