Doris Lucille Coleman McCauley of Fort Worth Texas, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the age of 95. Doris was the youngest of eight children of Martha and Ben Coleman of Whitney Texas and married George McCauley on October 23, 1948 in Hillsboro Texas.
Doris was a pediatric nurse for over 20 years but her favorite endeavor was teaching the “Cozy Kittens” preschool class at the Rosemont Church of Christ in Fort Worth. She was especially known for her cake decorating skills and baked countless birthday and celebration cakes over the years for friends and family. She loved family gatherings and would prepare wonderful holiday meals when the family would gather.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George McCauley; parents Martha and Ben Coleman; seven siblings; daughter Kay Harris; granddaughter Pam Harris; and son-in-law Brint Harris.
Doris is survived by her son Cliff McCauley and wife Denisa; grandchildren Ben Harris and wife Melissa; Laura Kauer; Aaron McCauley and wife Rachel; Ashley Geistweidt and husband Matt; great-grandchildren Andrew and Kaylin Kauer and Reagan and Nolan Geistweidt.
The family is very grateful to the staff at Whitley Place in Keller, Texas for their excellent and loving care over the last few years.
A funeral service for Doris will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134, followed by a committal service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM.
