Dorothy Marie Ralls Pope, born May 21, 1943, in Fort Worth, TX, passed away on June 14, 2023, at 11:15 pm after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters.
Dorothy enjoyed a nearly 40-year career at “Ma” Bell and AT&T between Texas and California. Her return to Texas and dedication to family, reunited her with the love of her life from 7th grade, Nick Pope, to whom she was married for 13 years. Known for her beautiful hair and smile and always being the life of the party, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Dorothy’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.
She is preceded in death by her twin brother Richard “Dickie”, her parents Leon and Virginia Ralls, and her husband Nick Pope, Sr. She is survived by her beloved step-mother and best friend, Jerrie Ralls of Fort Worth, siblings, Jim (Sherrie) of Prosper, TX, Bonnie of Bedford, TX, David of Bedford, TX, her children, Ronda (Donnie) of Frisco, TX, Connie (Kevin) of Richmond, VA, Anne (Jay) of North Richland Hills, TX, Natalie (John) of Canton, GA, Nicholas (Melissa) of Graham, TX and a plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.
Services will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Fort Worth, TX, on July 7, 2023. Visitation will start at 9 am, followed by the funeral service at 10 am. Flowers are welcome. A gift may also be made in her name to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
