Douglas was born July 9, 1937 in Turner Falls, MA to Paul and Virginia (Brown) Cadran. He proudly served in two branches of the armed forces, Army and Air Force. After a short stint in The Arctic Ocean, he was transferred to Carswell Airforce base in Fort Worth, Texas. After departing the military, Douglas went on to work as a printer at Container Corporation of America, retiring after 38 years. Realizing the importance of education, Douglas attended night school at Tarrant County College in 1985 and obtain his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Wesleyan University in 1987. Once boredom of retirement set in, Douglas went on to purse his lifelong love of education. He was a substitute teacher for Burleson Independent School District where he touched many lives in his 13 years of teaching.
Douglas met the love of his life Barbara in 1980. During the 40 years of marriage, he was a devoted husband, father and family man. They enjoyed traveling the county in their RV and attending family activities.
Douglas had many hobbies, which included camping with the family and fishing. One of his favorite past time activities was studying new languages. He was fluent in Spanish and dabbled in French, Italian and Russian. Douglas was extremely talented in many areas of life. He enjoyed learning to quilt and took great pride in making the receiving quilts for all the grandchildren. Beyond hobbies and talents, he had passion. His passion was music and the love of playing the guitar.
