Edwin, or "Eddie" as he was lovingly known, was born to Father, Julio Wiscowitch and Mother, Carmen Edith Ruiz Arvelo in New York City, New York. He attended St. Bernard Catholic Academy
Eddie (aka Whiskey), spent most of his life in NYC, retiring to Bedford TX in 2014. He was an avid sport fan. His allegiance never wavered from his teams, the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and the NY Jets. Independent, strong-willed, energetic and fun-loving, Eddie was a living personification of what it meant to be a New Yorker. He was a fighter and a survivor. His eyes and smile would light up a room, and his carefree attitude was contagious to any of those who were fortunate to be around him, especially when music was playing. Kahlil Gibran said, “Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” Nevermore was this evident than when his favorite artist from the 60’s and 70’s was playing, particularly songs by the great Sir Elton John. His love of music always made him the life of the party and the center of the dance floor. All worries and cares would melt away as he showed others what it meant to simply enjoy the moment. Edwin lived life just like he played his music, at full blast and his “rough around the edge’s” demeanor could never disguise the size of his good-natured loving heart. While never married and without children, he formed special bonds with the children of his friends and family, cherishing them with fully devoted love and respect.
He is survived by his Mother- Carmen Edith Ruiz Arvelo; Sister- Diana Wiscowitch; Brother- Michael Wiscowitch; ; Aunt- Miriam Fonseca; Uncle- Hector Ruiz, Jose A. Edwin, you were an important part of our lives. We are grateful to the Lord Almighty for the time we had with you. Thank you for the laughter, the friendship, the love and most importantly the memories. You are loved and indubitably missed. And while our hearts ache with the pain of losing you, we take comfort in knowing you are in God’s loving grace and presence, free from the pain, suffering and sorrow that this world brings. Until we see you again. Chow!
Circle of life
From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life...
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life
