

and 6th of 12 children. After graduating from high School, in 1951, Eli entered active-duty service with
the US Air Force in the Security Police career field. Serving during both the Korean and Vietnam
conflicts and would retire in 1971. Afterward in 1973, Eli began another career in civil service with the
United States Postal Service for the next 22 years until his retirement in 1995.
Eli is survived by his wife Mary R of 69 years and their 3 children, Jimmy, Pearl Ann, and Eli Jr. and
his 3 sisters Dina Fonseca and her family, Gloria Delgado and her family, Blanca Phelan and her
husband Richard and their family and his brother Jose (Joe) Delgado and his family. Eli is also
survived by his grandchildren Eva Black and her family, June Black and her husband Raymundo
(Mundo) and their family, Marcos, Roqia Tarwaneh, Jason Saleh, and Anthony Delgado and his family,
and Veronica Delgado. Eli is further survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Eli was preceded in death by his siblings, Malvina, Natividad "Teve," Israel, Moses, Romola (Jr.)
Baldemar (Mai) and El Fego.
Eli’s favorite past time was fishing of all kinds, from deep sea fishing to river trolling, or just lake
fishing. If there was a body of water, Eli was willing to cast a line in it.
The family would like to give a special thank you to June's husband Mμndo Avalos. Mundo was
instrumental in providing care and much needed assistance during the last few months of Eli’s life. Thanks again Mundo, we are forever grateful for your help.
A visitation for Eli will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A committal service will occur Monday, October 21, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
