Louise was born Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 30, 1922, in Salesville, outside Mineral Wells. She was the second of three children by her mother, Willomet "Ninnie" Barrett Bennett and Joe Clarence Bennett. Her two brothers -- Glenn Bennett and Joe David Bennett -- predeceased her.
Louise grew up on a ranch in Loving Valley where she rode a Shetland pony to school. Graduating from Mineral Wells High School in 1939, she began studying at Texas Wesleyan College. On March 30, 1941, she married her husband, Joseph Edward Mann Sr.
After the birth of their first son, Joseph Edward Mann Jr., on April 21, 1942, Louise and Ed moved to Fort Worth. Louise gave birth to her second son, Jimmy Roger Mann, on the Fourth of July in 1943. Her daughter, Mary Mann Endress, was born July 16, 1959.
Louise was a member of University Baptist Church in Fort Worth and an active volunteer in her community. While her children were young, Louise was a homemaker. After her children were grown, Louise taught preschool at University Christian Church for 19 years. She relocated to Houston in 2005 to live closer to her daughter, Mary. While living at Parkway Place, a senior living community, Louise became an avid bingo player. Louise was also a lifelong dog lover.
Her family wishes to thank each of Louise's caregivers, Barbara Hill, Tianna Hill, Stephanie Johnson, Lisa Robinson, Laura Weinmann and Jessica Ryall, who made it possible for Louise to live comfortably in her apartment throughout the twilight of her life.
