Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday at Sagamore Baptist Church, 2301 Dottie Lynn Parkway, Fort Worth. Interment: private.
Colleen was born in the tiny town of Cotton Gin near Teague and grew up in and around Fort Worth, graduating from Polytechnic High School. She worked at Convair and as a stewardess before her marriage to Robert. She joined American Airlines after her son, Matthew, was grown and retired as an executive secretary. Retirement gave Colleen more time to enjoy her church and family. She was an active member of Sagamore Baptist Church and its Prayer Group. Colleen loved her family, especially granddaughters Sydney Faith and Alexa Hope whom son Matthew and daughter-in-law Julie blessed her with, and was especially close to her sisters.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Arden Courts Memory Care. In the final days, special care and love was given by Markee, the nurse from Envoy Hospice Services, and other caregivers.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, T.W. and Fannie Ruth Brown; and brother, Kenneth.
Survivors: Husband, Robert; son, Matthew and wife, Julie; granddaughters, Sydney and Alexa; sisters, Wanda Croy and husband, Claude, Pat Shelton and Jo Ann Quinn of Bedford; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
